An International Pimobendan “PIMOCARD” Chewable Tablets
⦁ For congestive heart failure in dogs due to • Pimocard recommended to treat dilated cardiomyopathy
atrioventricular valvular insufficiency (AVVI) • Pimocard can delay the on set of CHF
Pimobendan is indicated for the management of mild to moderate or sever CHF’
(Modified NYHA class IIa, IIIb or IVc)
Identifying the specific cardiomyopathy is less
important than identifying those cats that are at
high risk of developing problem like congestive
heart failure or thromboembolism
Treatment of MVD (Mitral Value Disease) with
pimobendan before on set of CHF
Dose = 0.2 to 0.6mg/kg/Dog Or 0.5 mg/kg
daily is Conjunction with other Cardiac Drugs 10-20 kg =1 x 2.5 mg Twice daily
20-30 kg =1 x 5 mg Twice daily 30-40 kg = 2.5 + 5 mg Twice daily 40-60 kg = 2 x 5 mg Twice daily
Not advised to dogs less than 6 months old , pregnant or nursing dogs
